The man who changed his destiny

GONZAGA A LA VISTA • 27/01/2017

Have you ever met a person who is as active as a squirrel and as old as the hills? Ten, maybe? But how many of those can run a marathon even if they have had surgery? None, right? But let me tell you that’s not true. There is a stubborn and self-confident man who did it He is my grandfather and he is called Wladimiro.

Despite his huge bald head, he is as normal as others, he has wrinkles and he always wears his favourite worn out trousers. But what I admire about him is that he is as brave as a lion and he is so determined and gifted that he always  finds the way to beat me at everything! But on the other hand, he is sometimes bad-tempered and bossy.

My grandpa’s main talent is that he is such a self-confident person that he can make things that for others are impossible, possible. For example, two years ago, he had surgery and the doctor told him that he wouldn’t be able to walk again. But, do you think that he gave up? When he felt better he started training harder and harder until he could run as well as he used to.

My grandpa is an admirable person. He is the perfect example of the capacity that people have to change their destiny and, at some point in my life, I would like to be like him.
